Bankers

I really hope that when all the coronavirus stuff is over and done with then people remember how they were treated by some companies.

Here is another - the banks.

Despite them being bailed out by the public in 2008 and having loans backed by the government and some ridiculously low interest levels 0.5% - are increasing their interest rates for mortgages and also offering their 7% loans first.

There are no words to describe how low they are.

Well done Myleene

So pleased to read this article in the Daily Fail and well done Myleene - hits the nail on the head as to how bonkers things have got and how deluded some people can be.

A new bridge - hurrah. But in the wrong place

So the great minds of York are looking to redevelop what is quite a poor part of the city centre which in theory should be applauded.

However today they are talking about a new bridge - the problem is two fold.

  1. The bridge doesn't really go anywhere from anywhere
  2. York needs road bridges, not foot bridges.

BBC NEWS | UK | Drivers catch green lights 'wave'

Interesting article and something that I would have thought that we could and should have done a long time ago - but then the forth paragraph (quoted below) gave me the reason why.

So just remember when you are stuck at a traffic light, you are there for a reason, to burn more fuel and therefore pay more tax!

BBC NEWS | UK | Drivers catch green lights 'wave': "Previously the Department for Transport (DfT) had discouraged the systems which reduce fuel use, resulting in less tax being paid to the Treasury."

BBC NEWS | UK | Alcoholics could see benefits cut

Ok - I agree that Alcoholics need help, but don't you just love the nanny state that we are living in.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to hold back on paying taxes is the government or local council failed to deliver on their promises.

York’s riverbanks crumbling due to years of neglect

So here we go again - a politician that is in power, and has been for five or six years, blaming someone else for the problem that they now find at their door.

Well it may be the case that this essential work has been neglected since the 80's, however Mr Waller, you have been in power for a while now and so have done nothing to reverse the situation.

So stop bleating about it and do something. After all that is what you wanted when you stood for election and that is why people voted for you.
